Q & A for MauveTelly

  1. MauveTelly is not detecting my Roku device

Make sure your iOS device and your Roku device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. MauveTelly uses the UPnP SSDP protocol to detect devices on your network. SSDP does not work over Mobile Data.

On your Roku device, go to Settings - System - Advanced system settings - Control by mobile apps, make sure Network access is not set to Disabled.

Make sure your Wi-Fi router is not running in client isolation (also known as AP isolation, Wireless isolation, Station isolation) mode, which prevents devices on your Wi-Fi network from communicating with each other, including your iOS device.

Pull down on the devices list to refresh the display.

  2. I do not live in the UK. Is MauveTelly compatible with my Roku devices?

We believe MauveTelly is 100% compatible with Roku streamers regardless of the region they have been manufactured for.

For TVs, MauveTelly is designed to work with Roku TVs sold in the UK. Roku TVs sold in the UK come with an infrared remote control with the following features:

    1. A Live TV button to switch the TV input to Live TV
    2. A numeric 0-9 keypad with which a live TV channel number is entered
    3. The Channel Up and Channel Down buttons are available to switch the TV to the next or previous channels
    4. Four coloured keys are available for the interactive features

If your TV comes with an infrared remote control similar to the above, then it should be compatible with most of MauveTelly's features. However, if the infrared remote control is significantly difference, for example, if it doesn't have a numeric keypad but instead uses some other means to select a broadcast channel, then MauveTelly probably won't be able to switch channels on the TV either.

If you have a Roku TV that has been made for use outside the UK, we would be very interested to hear from you, what works and what doesn't, what features are missing. Please use the contact form to contact us.
